Educational Qualification

1. The candidates should have passed the UG Degree examination in the 10, +2, +3 stream, with the same main subject in Part III, for which he/she is seeking admission in the B.Ed. Course.

2. Candidates who have taken more than one main subject in Part III (Double or Triple major) of the UG Degree have to choose only one of the main subjects and apply for that optional in B.Ed.

3. Candidates who have doen their UG Degree in Applied Chemistry, Biochemistry or Applied Physics can apply for Chemistry and Physics optional respectively in B.Ed., those who have done Environmental Science and Microbiology can also apply Biology optional in B.Ed.

4. a) Candidates should have secured a minimum of 45% of marks in Part III of the UG Degree in the subject for which they are seeking admission in the B.Ed. Degree course.
    b) In the case of candidates, belonging to SC and ST communities, a pass in the relevant UG Degree course is enough.

5. For Economics, Commerce, Home Science and Computer Science, candidates with PG Qualification alone will be considered. PG Diploma in Computer will not be considered. Only M.Sc. Computer Science will be considered.

6. Candidates who have taken a degree of the University of Madras or will be taking their degree by July of this academic year are eligible for admission.

7. Graduates of other Universities will be considered for admission only if their degrees have been evaluated as equivalent to corresponding degree of the University of Madras. If admitted, their admission is subject to the approval of the Madras University. The College cannot guarantee such approval before hand and such candidates admitted are subject to their personal risk.

8. Those who have taken Tamil under Part II of the degree examination with or without Part III (in the Language) are eligible to take Tamil as an optional subject, the other optional being the Major subject studied under Part III in their degree course.
